6/9/2024 - To Be Brave and Strong and True: Inspired by an old movie called "Goodbye Mr. Chips", what does it mean for us as Christians to be "brave and strong and true"?

5/26/2024 - Lessons in Colossians #6: From 3:16 - "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

5/19/2024 - Lessons in Colossians #5: From 3:14-15, a study on three Christian virtues that we are to live in - charity (love), peace, and thanksgiving.

5/12/2024 - Praying for a Dying Nation: When we see the insanity,  corruption, and perverseness of society and politics, and have a pivotal national election coming up, what can we do? This is not a call to activism, but to sober prayer and earnest "standing in the gap" for this nation. A ground for hope is in Gen. 19 (Abraham's intercession for Sodom), and in 2 Chr. 7:13-14, addressed not to the unbelievers, but God's people. All through this land we need to set ourselves to humility, prayer, seeking God's face, and turning from wicked ways. Only then will we perhaps see our nation delivered from utter ruin.

3/10/2024 - Lessons in Colossians #1: Starting in chapter 3, looking at the practical side of Christianity. We are to seek and to set our affection on those things that are above, and to put to death the self-willed life. I then go through a list of sins that Paul tells us that we are to "mortify".
