11/9/2025 - Church - Secondary but Vital. Our message to unbelievers must be the gospel of Christ, not "Come to church". In that sense, church is secondary. Yet after a person believes, it is vital that they associate with, and function in, a true local church that stands for Biblical truth.

10/26/2025 - Jesus, the Bread of Heaven. An exposition of John 6, to explain what it means when Jesus says he is the true bread come down from heaven, and how we receive everlasting life by believing on him.

10/19/2025 - Help for the Foolish. An exposition of Ps. 107, showing a common sequence of events: Man descends into extreme difficulty because of sin and foolishness, then cries out to God for deliverance. God sends his word to save and deliver, and then there is a response of praise, thanksgiving, and public testimony of God's faithfulness.

10/5/2025 - How to Live a Long Life. A lesson on how God (and specifically Christ) IS life, the source and giver of life, both physical and spiritual. While believers tend to think of life primarily as eternal life, God has also given some very specific instructions on how to live a long life in this world through obedience and godliness., wisdom and understanding, and righteousness. He shows us the way to a "fountain of life", with living waters springing up from within us.

9/28/2025 - A Biblical Form of Preaching and Teaching. A lesson from Neh. 8:8, when Ezra "read to them the law of Moses distinctly", then "gave the sense", and then caused them to understand what it was saying. This should be the pattern for us as pastors and teachers, as parents, and also in our individual Bible study. Also covered is an explanation of the dangers of non-literal translations, as well as the sheer number of translations available.

9/21/2025 - Thoughts on the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

9/14/2025 - Looking to God. A warning , not to be looking to this world for satisfaction, but to God for our salvation. “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth". Then a consideration of what we as believers should be looking at.

8/231/2025 - True Peace and Rest with God. Through Christ we have peace with God and forgiveness of sins so we are no longer his enemies. But a result of this is that we can know real peace and rest in our souls, even amidst the trials and tribulations and stress of life. Attaining this state of rest should be a daily goal, by abiding in the Vine. The sabbath was given as a picture of this rest - we labor to enter into rest. But it is also a picture of the perfect rest that will follow later - we labor though this life and enter into perfect rest when we come into the presence of the LORD.

8/24/2025 - The Christian Mind.  On the importance of maintaining and renewing our hearts and minds through the Word. We must learn, not just to keep ourselves free of sin through prompt confession and repentance, but also to be able to speak to, and to hear God's voice daily.

8/17/2025 - Two Sides of Salvation. Looking at the interworking of divine sovereignty and human responsibility in our salvation. We must endure to the end, and "work out our salvation with fear and trembling", and yet we receive comfort and encouragement in knowing that we are eternally secure, God working in us to strengthen and preserve us, and that we shall never perish.

8/10/2025 - Why Church #8: Must Christians Go to Church? Many professing Christians feel no need to be a part of a local church. This study concerns the fact that God sets believers in the church, and that it is not just for their own growth and encouragement, but for the good of the church as a whole. We are to function together in the church, not as separate and individual believers.

7/27/2025 - Whose Mind is Stayed on Thee. A study of Isa. 26:3-4. The secret to a life of real peace, trust, and security in Christ is by having our thoughts "stayed" on God, and having a "fixed" heart.
